AHD COMPACT FOIL
The latest generation of Windfoil boards
FEATURES
COMPACT
The balanced compact outline allows a homogeneous volume distribution. The length of the board is compensated by more volume towards the bow, in order to balance the board on the water.
DON'T FEAR THE 'TOUCH-DOWN' ANY MORE
The straight rails, with refined rocker & underwater shaping, combined with not going too short on each model, will allow you have touch-downs which invariably have a good recovery, without affecting your flight for more than a moment, as the board kisses the surface of the water to bounce back onto the foil in an instant!
QUICK PLANNING FROM THE START
The width brings stability. However, in order not to lose the early take off we all so desire, an individual pattern of cut-outs (specific to each model) have been carefully developed.
This ensures we free up the 'wetted surface' as quickly as possible for a faster start, while also ensuring a quick rise back onto the foil after brief touch-downs.
The cut outs allow you to keep board width on the rear heel, to have maximum power on the foil without the drag which would normally be associated with this stern shape.
Great attention has also been paid to optimising the bow shapes to minimise aerodynamic drag and associated instability at high speed, as well as to the height of the mast track in relation to the normal deck-line, to optimise both the efficiency of your rig and the balance of the board!
Each of the 3 COMPACT models has taken a year of design, testing and development to perfect!
With such big differences in sizes and design remits, we have invested a huge amount of time to ensure each board is perfectly optimised for its individual design purposes, to ensure you enjoy an outstanding ride every time!
Whether you are a Recreational Rider or Pro Racer, we are confident that the Compact boards will prove an outstanding partner when matched with a great foil and a keen rider.
CARBON DUAL SANDWICH CONSTRUCTION FOR ULTIMATE STRENGTH TO WEIGHT RATIO
From 8.2 kg, like all our boards, with the Compacts, we follow a unique manufacturing process during which all the layers of fabrics, sandwich material (in this case Hard Foam PVC) + other reinforcements, and mast/fin boxes & footstrap inserts are applied to the CNC shaped EPS Core.
The 'Mummy' as it is known, is then placed in a double-shell mould and pressure cured according to a carefully controlled process which is specific to each model.
This ensures the ideal polymerisation of the resins for a perfect shape reproduction and the optimal strength/weight ratio every time.
The resin used for the construction of our boards is a bio-sourced epoxy SR GreenPoxy (more than 33% of the molecules come from vegetable sources) and the woods used are from sustainably managed woodland as close to the factory as possible.
The Compact 83 is designed for the medium size (max sail size 9m2)
The Compact 91 is designed for heavier riders or competitors who need more support on the foil.
