Wood Sandwich
LIGHTWEIGHT BOARDS DESIGNED FROM THE GROUND UP AS OUR LOWEST CARBON FOOTPRINT
Developed by Jean Louis Colmas in 1984, Wood Technology became Starboard’s trademark construction in 1995. Wood Technology remains a favourite for riders preferring more comfort, more control and the unique crisp feel of an original Starboard. It’s time to bring back this technology while reducing our CO2 footprint. Full wood sandwich lamination of 0.6mm Australian Pinewood, ensures durability and comfort in a good strength to weight ratio. Today’s wood is less visible in modern graphics; UV protected by fresh blue paint and stickers that compliment the natural grain with a really nice effect. A classy re-edition of a classic Starboard Original.
Built specifically for wave enthusiasts craving an ultra-light, surf-inspired ride, the ULTRA boards promise rapid acceleration, silky-smooth turns, and intuitive wave handling. The newly refined ULTRA 82 & 86 showcase a narrower tail outline, enhanced Vee shape, and sharper rails—perfectly engineered for earlier planing, higher speeds, and even more responsive performance. The rest of the ULTRA lineup continues as proven classics, trusted by riders worldwide.
REVISED TAIL DESIGN
On the new ULTRA 82 & 86, a narrower tail outline, extra Vee, and sharper rails 45 cm from the tail boost maneuverability, enable earlier planing, and deliver higher top-end speeds.

All ULTRA models offer snappy off-the-top maneuvers, smooth bottom turns, and responsive wave riding for an unparalleled surfing experience.
PROVEN ULTRA INNOVATION
With ultra-light construction, a radical rockerline, and optimized fin positions, ULTRA delivers consistent performance in a variety of wave conditions.
